Hi everyone! ๐ I'm Xuruh, the developer of Jorvik.
Jorvik is a Discord-style chat app built on Matrix: servers, channels, voice, GIFs and end-to-end encrypted messaging, without being locked into one company's platform. It works with any Matrix homeserver, so you can sign in with an account you already have.

- Sign in to any Matrix server
- Mobile web layout with push notifications (works on iPhone via Add to Home Screen)
- Long-press message menus and clearing mentions on phones
- Notifications open the right chat and bring Jorvik back from the tray
- Stickers, visible status messages, and clean copy/paste
- Opt-in game activity ("Show the game I'm playing")

I'm still looking for a good one that looks and feels like Pidgin or something. I don't like designs that are so full of stuff that they pretty much assume you have them full screen.

Even if every other part didn't scream it, thousands of lines committed every day sure does
Not to mention it's a "continuation of a project" (https://github.com/Vitosicz/Heorot) which had 60k+ lines committed in a week and then wasn't touched for 9 months. So it's the rare slopfork
While it's slop, I'm actually so glad it's not just another worthless alternative with no one on it, and is just a matrix client!
Because slop discord alternative have been flooding lattely...
I've been using Sable. Feels like the modern interface Matrix has been lacking for so long. And doesn't appear to be cuckcoded.
