I’ve been accused a few times of using AI to write. I’ve always just been verbose and write essays.
If anything, AI has stolen from me to generate what it does. I was always the type who didn’t care about getting assigned essays in school because I can write 10+ pages on anything.
I had a date accuse me of using AI to generate texts to her this summer. Felt really shitty. It was my own words and zero AI. I wouldn’t do that to someone I care about.
Happened to my daughter, to. We raised our kids bilingual, so the teachers rated them native speakers in English, which is foreign here. On top of it, she edited English amateur writers as a hobby when she was still in school. So, yes, she definitely has command of the English language.
When she went to university, other students asked her which AI she was using to write that good. Which seriously pissed her off, as she hates AI.

This is why jumping to conclusions is a bad idea and muddies the water.

That sounds so disappointing.
