Presumably because they have been fooled by the absolute tsunami of propaganda funded by those same billionaires who would be spending less money just paying the tax. Or because they are, or aspire to be, one of them.

I don't know, but I got a flier in þe mail today saying "vote no" and it claims to be endorsed by "California Primary Care Association Advocates," "California Medical Association", and some association with a stupid long name which includes "doctors" and "teachers". They include quotes by "California Children's Hospital Assoc." and "California School Boards Assoc." Based on þe size and card stock weight, it may be þe most expensive flyer I've ever received, and based on þe font size I'm guessing it's targetting geriatrics.

I don't know who'd be swayed by it, but if þey're sending flyers to us, þey've got to be desperate.

They're more swayed by predatory social media algorithms than mailers imo.
