Former diplomat Mark Smith, who resigned in August 2024 over arms exports to Israel, said his requests for an explanation had been met with instructions to delete emails and stop questioning the policy.
“Delete these emails. You shouldn’t be asking this,” he recalled being told.

One of my in-laws is a member of the constabulary.
And I have made my views on Zionism, and our complicity in the genocide of Palestinians clear.
Whilst I know personally they are socially aware (surprising I know for a copper) these comments usually illicit distinct silence. Obviously a level of professionalism.
But I've made it known, I would rather be arrested, tried, and even imprisoned, than to be silent. Then maybe one day in the future when good overcomes evil... I will be on the right side of history.
