Write emails to your European councilors. It takes literally 2 more minutes than complaining about it on social media, except there it actually makes a difference. They read that shit, and they monitor whenever a shitstorm is happening.

Just one word of advice: pick your highest leverage contact, and write one custom email, by yourself. Don’t add multiple people to the CC list, since these might get filtered out due to suspected “campaigning”. (You can’t of course send multiple emails individually).

The technology in reducing C02 emission can't keep up with future goals. There simply is not a way to generate less C02 from burning a hydrocarbon.
I reality, it likely won't matter as the world is pivoting to EVs and even diesel trucks are under threat. Once we hit an inflection point of EV user and EVs become "normal", no one will choose gas vehicles any more. Certainly, gas prices will remain volatile indefinitely.

The CO2 emissions are calculated as an average across all newly registered vehicles of one manufacturer. The reference is 2021

So if Porsche sells one 911 Turbo S with 266g/km VW has to sell 43 ID vehicles because the fleet emissions of VW group in 2021 were 118g/km.

Where does your number 43 come from? Because 266/118 is barely more than 2

They need to reduce their emissions by 95% from 2021 to 2035. So from 118 to 5.9g/km.

To achieve an average emission of 5.9g/km across a fleet of registered vehicles where one emits 266g/km you need 266/5.9=45 vehicles. 44 zero-emissions vehicles and one fossil-fuel-burning track-tool.

43 was a previous rounding error on my part.
