The Vector Gear aims to be the VR makers' dream open headset
Walker Industries is a company made up of VR makers. In the Kickstarter video, the head of the company says that he had the dream of building a headset since when he was like 13 years old and was watching Sword Art Online. 9 years later, he’s trying to make his dream reality, by building himself together with a bunch of other talented nerds a fully opensource headset packed with features: the Vector Gear.

It's a super cool project to design and build your own VR headset, and I love open source/hardware. But I think it with hardware projects on Kickstarter it's extra important to remember that you are funding a dream, which may or may not become reality. I'm sure most people know this by now, but there are always new people backing a project for the first time, and I doubt everybody thoroughly reads and understands Kickstarter's terms. With that said, I hope these guys manage to reach their funding goal and finish the project.
If you build it, they will buy
Not.. Necessarily..VR is unfortunately dying again. Honestly the only biggest VR innovation is from the reconp and modding scene.
God, I would play so much fucking VR if they just made good games. Unfortunately I've burned through the good ones, and everything else is gimmicky shit that gets boring.
