That's definitely neat, but isn't it sort of a moot point when a hardware switch is just controlling software? I haven't read into it, so maybe I'm not understanding correctly.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Framework's hardware switches for the mic and camera.

Can you engage it programatically? Like turn it on every time you disconnect from your house's wifi?

That was also on my list when I was looking for a new phone but I got the FP6 instead.

That was my go to, but then they refused to give me a deductible invoice for my company (which is just me and my wife). It would have been a not-insignificant tax cut, as €700 is an expense deducted from our profit tax, but because we don't have an EU-VAT number (being a minuscule company), they refused. We had no problems with other companies. So I just went for a Motorola instead (which was tax deductible). I really wanted their phone, but their complete unwillingness to cooperate, while I'm trying to buy their (arguably justified) overpriced phone, has made me a non-customer for life. A shame because I really sympathise with what they represent, but if I'm spending €700 on a mid-range phone, I want that spent money, to at least save me some money.

Are you using Android, e/OS or Nura on the FP6?

Some features are supported but I think I have seen recent posts that more features are getting support over time so it will hopefully be more features supported soon.
