This is like looking at a rapist and saying 'you know what, I could see an arranged marriage between him and my underage daughter'. Why would anyone work with the guy?

Clearly the CEO of Starlink is untrustworthy. He has throttled internet service for personal reasons, stolen government data, illegally shuttered government investigations of his businesses while apparently using serious mind altering drugs and his twitter activity shows that he rarely sleeps for more than 3 hours.

I see no reason why he wouldn't get a wild idea to brick the car of every Tesla owner who isn't demonstrably an Elon fan as evidenced by their social media posts.

Musk just made Starlink a national security risk. I'd expect any future negotiations to take that into account everywhere. He just made SpaceSail a much more viable product, despite massively higher costs.

Musk is risk. You never know when he's going to change his mind. You can't trust any promise he makes. NASA is one hissy fit from not having any heavy launch capability.

AST Space mobile is at least going to offer competition on the direct to device side of satellite communications, won’t help though for services like starlink that provide fixed terminal broadband service. Not sure who else is competing in that space, maybe iridium and rocketlab?
