I feel like Harry Kim is the Miles O’Brien of Voyager. 🤔

Very true, there are so many fucked up episodes with him being the main punching bag.

Paris gets demoted AND promoted again during all of that.

Then they make Kim sit down and call his parents and tell them why he's still an ensign.

Miles O'Brien was the Miles O'Brien of TNG. Just because he never left the transporter room doesn't mean he wasn't suffering.

Naw.

Harry Kim couldn't handle half the shit that happened to O'Brien. He's too baby faced and optimistic for that.

I wonder how many deaths they’ve each had? They’ve each been legit killed at least once.

They’re both even alternate universe doubles! Their mainline selves were both killed.

IIRC the only death that Kim had was the one from Emanations, where he jumped into the sarcopod thing so he could ride subspace vacumadooble back to Voyager.

There were other "deaths" that don't really count. there's one that a space got freaky-deeky and spawned a second Voyager. in an accident, that voyager's Kim got sucked out to space. Then there's Timeless where an Old-Kim and Old-Chakotay sent a message back in time to prevent a transwarpthingamajig from destroying the voyager he died with a critical warp core oopsie. but that got wiped from the record because timeywhimey crap. Same with End Game, where he helps Badmiral Janeway go back in time (by fighting off angry klingons. Who Janeway robbed.) that also got wiped out when Janeway got Voyager back early.

For O'Brien, there's a few things. There's that one where he's seeing his future self die, and he's changing it. including by sending one back? timeywhimey stuff doesn't count, even if he actually did die. Then there's the one with the Replicant that took his place?

Children of time, O'Brien gets caught in a timey-whimey thing where the Defiant gets sent back 200 years (and O'Brien dies, technically. But also O'Brien met his descendants.) ^(See^ ^why^ ^I^ ^think^ ^writers^ ^should^ ^stay^ ^the^ ^fuck^ ^away^ ^from^ ^screwing^ ^with^ ^time?)^

there's a few times where people fake his death, too. Like the one with the grey goo.

But, like... O'Brien's life sucks so hard he volunteers to get tortured by cardies, just to get away from it. Harry wouldn't last ten minutes in his shoes. give it another ten years and he might last an hour.
