A farm near me trucks in thousands of pumpkins, lays them out in a field, and charges customers for the privilege of collecting them in wheelbarrows.

After Halloween, the farm pays pest destruction people to deal with all the rats.

It doesn't look too bad for £5

"It was just a field that pumpkins had been rolled into which we could have bought at a supermarket," she said.

Just googled pumpkin patch.... They all look like that

They can often be like mini fairs these days, there was one locally last year that had amusements, street food, a halloween maze and all sorts.

Seems this one was similar. It doesn't scream the wonka experience which was a blatant scam/cash grab. This just seemed like a family farm trying to pull together a somewhat decent event that'll break even.

I think the fancy ones are literal pumpkin patches where you pick it from the ground, but even then, not all of them are like that

I just found a picture of it on a local news site: it is indeed just a field where they've scattered bought pumpkins.

It's actually pathetic.
