Titles of posts by one user not showing
In the community ![email protected] (https://piefed.social/c/[email protected]), I've noticed that posts by one user in particular ([email protected]) don't have post titles visible, when viewing from piefed.social (but other instances don't have this issue). It doesn't seem to be an issue with my account, because the issue still appears when logged out.
For example, these two posts appear to have no title:
- https://piefed.social/c/[email protected]/p/2508746/content-in-post-body
- https://piefed.social/c/[email protected]/p/2495477/content-in-post-body
But if you view the same posts on piefed.world, they do have a title:
- https://piefed.world/c/[email protected]/p/1477011/if-britain-had-to-be-represented-by-one-celebrity-who-would-you-choose
- https://piefed.world/c/[email protected]/p/1468812/what-s-your-most-ridiculous-british-public-transport-story
Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this issue, so I can see all post titles on piefed.social?
Thanks if anyone has any help.

I think it has something to do with both piefed.blahaj.zone and piefed.world both being almost equally ancient versions of PieFed. It's to do with the new Follow user functionality and whether the source instance federates the post via a community or via the user follow. This was tidied up in later versions of PieFed but old instances are not 100% compatible with it.
I'm hoping it fixes itself once those instances upgrade.
Thanks very much for answering, I appreciate it.
The forward slash in her display name has a high chance of being the cause.
My app does not show display name's and it is still that was for me.
Piefed.social doesn't show those titles in the browser either and it could possibly have an impact in the background even if your app doesn't show custom labels.
Could be something else, just the kind of thing I have run into frequently while working on web apps.
Came across another user whose posts are showing content in body.
Display name looks pretty normal.
honestly I was under the impression it was something she was doing with her posts. I just kinda don't worry about it because she is pretty prolific so I see plenty of her stuff.
Just a heads up, ![email protected] is the proper community for this.
Okay thanks, I might post it there, although I noticed on that community the Piefed dev said he's busy with PHP stuff, so maybe I'll wait a couple of days.
Looks fine on piefed.zip. Maybe some recent change broke something? IIRC
content-in-post-bodywas how posts from nodebb were titled some time ago
