Capitalism treats houses as commodities instead of homes.

Sure, but regular folks who struggled to buy a house and have a lot of their wealth wrapped up in it can get wiped out if prices drop. Housing issues should be treated as wage issues. Bind wages to the average cost of housing.

Dafuq? I live in my house because it's my home. It's not an investment portfolio. If housing costs go down then all that means is my property tax goes down. GOOD.

Unless you ever want to sell the house or borrow against it. If it's worth less than you bought it for while everything else around you gets more expensive, you're in trouble.

Yes, I'm in trouble if I see homes as commodities. I don't. What's so hard to understand?

How much did you spend on your home? Home much do you make in a year?

You're not getting the point. Landlords and speculators should be abolished, the homes nationalized.

Ask me how much I make. Psshhttt

If you own a home, and don't care about it maintaining its value, you are either family rich and spoiled, or you're stupid. Which is it?

That’s the cold-blooded perspective, so you’ve omitted the most important options:

Caring about greater society, equality and the harms caused to the environment by the growth/extractive mindset.

You’ll also make money from investing in the arms trade, by the way.
