Spider veins

I turned 36 last July. I’ve been pretty sedentary for most of my adult life. Even more so the past few years. Depression hasn’t helped. I’m pretty confident this explains the rapid accumulation of spider veins on my feet. The thing is, they’re spreading to my stomach and upper arms. Other than excercise, which I am doing now, what are my options?

Check with a doctor to make sure it’s not an underlying vascular condition.

Saline injections and vascular lasers work about the same, and they will come back in a few years. It won’t covered by insurance since it’s cosmetic.

Yeah. I had it done a few years ago. $400 and they’re all back.

Def ask your gp about possible underlying causes though, if you can. They’re almost always just a cosmetic thing, but can be a sign of Venous insufficiency, which is treatable and covered by insurance.

I’m sorry that I have no practical advice. I simply embraced them as part of aging.

Some of my girlfriends like to do a good tanning oil/lotion and that can def help make them not stand out as much. Tanning oils and such have got so much better than when I was a teen!
