Spent today helping out mate with sick Kelpie. Had to go to specialist and mate is pretty anxious without their little mate. Kelpie was the best boy though. Finally found what's wrong - cyst UNDER its spine. Apparently dogs can sometime inhale grass seeds which can wheedle into weird arse positions. Little mate is lining up for surgery which should fix it then the hard yards of keeping a working dog still /quiet for recovery

Good on you for being there for your mate and maybe the kelpie have an easy recovery!

3

So glad they found whatโ€™s wrong. Hopefully surgery will go well and he recovers quickly.

Anything spider would absolutely destroy me.

Also love that the deer/elk one was included in there!

3

Um yeah. If anyone coming over next week wants to bring stuff please not be realistic spiders.

2

just normal aussie porch spiders ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Lol, moved around 15kg boxes today, reorganising the freeze room, and I picked up Mickey just now and he barely registered as heavy. He's 7kg lol.

I guess I am getting stronger. My fat is being converted to muscle, so I can crush man's head between thighs like sparrow egg yes

This might be a better question for, say, another evening, BUT... if your house is going up/down, one way or another, what are the three non-essential items you're grabbing? Not talking fire safes, passports or insurance docs.

Mine are... 1 x Toby's ashes (potentially ironic) 1 x Mofusand plushie 1 x LV handbag (one is a particularly loved piece)

3

my calligraphy and art stuff, maybe some embroidery

I have only one or two sentimental items and they are in safe keeping already so are in the fire safe, I have nothing else because x threw away all my possessions

3

Computer, studio speakers and the 3 south melbourne dim sims in the freezer (and the bamboo steaming thing if I'm allowed 4).

3

This is the question I have literal nightmares/stress dreams about. A very worn out plushie named Tommy would be one.

PC, David Larwill painting, and can I say the pocket watch box even though there's three watches in there.

Fwiw, I have had most of my stuff burn down.

maybe I should try these

no lactose so maybe I can tolerate it

1

It seemed to still have some milk and skim milk so I might skip it if you have any diary or lactose issues. Even if you don't, you're not missing out on much

I think I might just be incredibly jaded, but the 10 Things I Hate About You thingy on Dancing with the Stars feels like a desperate vote grab. I guess they've got to have someone pulling heartstrings everywhere. In saying that though, Julia Stiles sure can dance, she's always been awesome.

I have never been a hay fever person thankfully. But holy fuck. Every indoor surface is covered in sperm and I am so itchy. I feel so sorry for anyone who finds this season terrible every year. Should I give an antihistamine a go?

Yes, just be aware you shouldn't drive on many of them. Also HEPA vacuum and an air purifier if you can afford it.

2
Pilkreply

Thank you for reminding me I have an air purifier in storage!

Back to melbs today ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Solved the bogong problem. Another massive wave last night with at least what seemed like a 1000+ inside.

Put 2 bug zappers outside, opened everything up, flywire off, turned inside lights off and used a leaf blower. Moths are far too big for the zappers so they're safe. And shit me when they started swarming as soon as the lights were out the noise was wild.

Anyway they all left๐Ÿ‘

Would hate to have a moth phobia atm.

I like seeing them around , as if the environment is safer for them now, they do seem to be a darker colour than I remember

A couple yes.

On the brink of extinction so they get a free pass.
