In my country whatsapp is now used even for official purposes. We are cooked. Personally I use Signal as much as possible.
From what I understand many Europeans and some Asian countries are stuck using WhatsApp due to its ubiquity and government usage. I’m surprising the GDPR countries went with that over E2EE texting

Dan Saltman is behind redact.dev and he is a relentless stalker and harasser. Redact is a company that purports to delete all of your comments from a variety of social media sites, but it’s also a source of blackmail because it’s not verified that the info is actually deleted.
Dan is obsessive and has been banned from Twitch for stalking and harassing their employees.
There’s more but this is just off the top of my head.
Dan Saltman is also a Zionist, a racist, and co-hosts a podcast with Destiny (Steven Bonnell II) who is a known genocide denier, potential pedophile (solicited and kept images of a 17 year old (he may or may not have known she was 17 at first, but he sure kept the pictures after he knew)), and (credibly) alleged revenge porn creator/distributor (currently in court over it), and Redact.dev also sponsors the H3 podcast hosted by Ethan and Hila Klein (that's a whole other bucket of worms that I don't want to dig into at the moment)

I wouldn't trust anything from Dan Saltman and redact.
He's such a vile person that uses extreme measures to punish his perceived enemies that there's no way this info can be trusted imo. It's just as likely that someone working at WhatsApp has pissed Saltman off.
