After a year of empty threats, Ontario Premiere agrees to a 6 month contract to buy US electricity. Very off brand for a once MAGA Premiere who has been playing tough guy since 2025 with a series of publicity stunts.

Ontario makes bank on electricity trading.
They buy power when it's cheap and hold water back in reservoirs. When prices spike they let it flow and generate gobs of cash. Hydro is the best way to take advantage of the pricing volatility that renewables introduced to the system.
Isn't Ontario Hydro private these days?
Regulated private, but yes.
