Nationwide meat recall underway as ‘temperature abuse’ impacts 1.5 million pounds of beef, pork, and chicken
On Saturday, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service alerted the public about a voluntary recall by Kayem Foods Inc., a more-than-a-century-old meat products company based in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
The recall involves more than 1.5 million pounds of meat products produced by Kayem Foods. According to the FSIS, Kayem is recalling 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products over fears that impacted products “may have experienced temperature abuse during storage.”
The problem was discovered after one of Kayem Foods’ retail customers complained about warm product temperatures related to some of the meat products, the notice states.

The more than 1.5 million pounds of meat products impacted by the recall include items sold under nine different brands:
Al Fresco is beautifully ironic.
I'm not vegan, but think of all the lives wasted because someone couldnt be bothered to make sure it was hosed safely. It's sinful
We’re hitting a food shortage era. Anyone fucking around with the food supply or its safety should be arrested.
I absolutely do, which is why I personally only buy meat I know I'll use. I've forgotten about or misplaced meat before and when I have to throw it away I apologize to the animal because that was unfair of me
I used to do home compositing but they don't recommend putting meat in worm bins. But I've heard black soldier fly larva or bokashi can handle meat just fine
It would be nice to know which nation in your title.
Mentions USDA right out of the gate in the summary:
I think they mean in the title. Also, not everyone is going to know what USDA is.
I want to know whether to click on it or not. What's the problem with adding a "U.S." to the title?
Fair, but I think on this community, it's expected the titles should match their originals. As for FC, I think they mostly assume a US-centric audience.
Kinda narrows it down, at least
If I was not already not eating meat, I'd be making that choice to not eat it now, that's for sure.
Same here, friend.
I wish this had more detail. From the brands and going over all three main meat types makes me think it might be lunch meats.
