Let's say you are a video content creator on YouTube. How hard is it currently to publish to Peertube additionally? Like is there a tool to push a single button? Or is it more like twice the work?

@OddDev @fediverse Closer to the single button: PeerTube has channel synchronization built in. You add your YouTube channel URL once under Channels - Synchronizations, pick whether to import the existing videos too, and it checks for new publications every hour. The one thing to check is that your instance admin has the feature enabled. Steps with screenshots: https://docs.joinpeertube.org/use/channel-sync

That's pretty cool. Thank you!

Is it possible to use this with twitch too?
@anti42 @OddDev @fediverse The sync reads YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo channels. A friendly path for Twitch: the Video Producer on Twitch exports your VODs to YouTube, and those ride the same sync into PeerTube.
@osmancito @fediverse Thank you! That's awesome.
@OddDev @fediverse Glad it helps. Enjoy the extra home for your videos!

Does a content creator need to host a own instance or are there public instances for creators with many videos?
@anti42 @OddDev @fediverse Joining a public instance is the usual path, self-hosting stays optional. The official list at https://instances.joinpeertube.org/ shows each instance, and every instance sets its own storage quota, so a creator with a big archive picks one with room to grow.

Thanks for your help!
@anti42 @OddDev @fediverse A pleasure. Happy publishing, and enjoy your new corner of the fediverse!
@osmancito @fediverse Actually asking for a friend 😅
@OddDev @fediverse A friend with excellent timing 😄 The door stays open for them.
Sounds like you need to WUPHF.
