KDE bigscreen hasn’t yet figured out controller capture. Valve struggled with it forever. I am surprised they thought it would be so easy. It’s broken for me.
For me it works fine with several different controllers, just have to have a kbm as a backup because if an application takes full control of the controller (like steam does), the desktop doesn't automatically recovers control if you go back to it.
Try playing megaman x regenesis or squirrel with a gun. Different games with different dependancies going on. I have to manually disable and enable controller capture because KDE bug screen don’t know when to let go of the gamepad or when to grab it again.
Steam does okay but it’s not in the right position to do it. The desktop environment is in a more appropriate position to handle it so I agree with KDEs attempt. But not the execution.

can you install that on its own or do you need a specific plasma version?
I literally just uninstalled KDE big screen over the keyboard, now I have to try this lol
I appreciate their shipping speed and that they keep trying to get things right

Yeah, steam big picture is decent now, definitely took a long long time to get there
Even this year the menus for similar games didn’t work correctly.
