Planes features some characters who are planes that were designed for use in World War 2. While we can can wonder what The Second World War looked like in the Cars universe in many curious ways, I want to posit that a Cars World War 2 implies a Cars Space Race (after a Cars Operation Paperclip, of course), implying a Cars Apollo program and likely a Cars lunar landing.
While it's obvious that the Lunar Roving Vehicle was likely the intended, erm, astronaut of the Apollo missions, which other parts of the Saturn V would be sentient? If Cars and Planes are sentient, surely other vehicles may be! Where does consciousness lie in the Saturn V rocket? If the engine is the brain, does it drop its brains into the ocean after staging?
Much to consider...

In Cars 2 the bad guys are Yugos. This means that the USSR was real in their universe. This means that there was a car Stalin, a car Rasputin and a car Ivan the Terrible.
