When is VisionQuest getting good?
I don't know if I was just in a bad mood or if it's AI fatigue, but I watched too little of VisionQuest to have an honest opinion. It just felt like a chore, without any outlook of getting better.
Have you had a similar feeling but were strong enough to fight through more of it, and can you tell me the minute the investment pays out?

It might just not be a show for you, bud. I have been skeptical and exhausted by ai hype the entire time, but I still like the show, mostly because I have been a fan of the comics all my life. It’s well related to the comics and the marvel universe in general, it continues the story lines from the previous movies and shows, I enjoyed most but not all of those. It’s okay to step back from the franchise or give it up entirely. There’s other stuff to get into, even new franchises if you’re just done with ai or this type of universe.
I'm currently rewatching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I mean it's been two episodes so far.
I really enjoyed the first episode and thought the second episode was just ok. For me the first episode was "good" and made me want to watch the rest.
But also the show doesn't stand alone. It's direct follow up show from WandaVision, Multiverse of Madness and Agatha All Along. If you haven't seen those, then it's going to be a different experience. People often complain that the MCU has a bunch of homework and required watching to enjoy it. Generally speaking that's not true. In the case of the WandaVision saga, it absolutely is.
So to answer your question, the first episode is when it gets good. Now it might not be the show for you and that's fair. But also maybe it's worth waiting until the whole show is out. There might be better episodes, there might be worse. Only time will tell.
Dark Matter on Apple.
A super interesting concept, but it's far out there yet the show is grounded in reality, so at the beginning of the story you have to endure the main character being confused and behaving frantically while you wait for them to get a handle on what's happening and the actual story can begin
I know the concept of slowly revealing the larger story behind something. But this only works if the way until then isn't too boring or stupid.
Sometimes googling for when something gets good gives me the necessary information. “Caddo Lake” was such a case. Well, it made me not give up because I expected that it got better, but in the end it was just another Shyamalan disappointment.
Waking up on a spaceship doesn't sound grounded in reality.
the apple version is a completely different story about parralell worlds.
There isn't a spaceship!
OK, I got informed that they gave their science fiction show the same name as a science fiction show with many fans who are sad it got canceled.
That's not as bad as the programming language with the same name as an email reader (elm), but it's equally stupid as the text editor with the same name as an already existing one (zed).
I think it's named after the Book it's based on
A placeholder name by astrophysicists.
Dark matter and dark energy are often used in science fiction, and the authors have their fingers crossed nobody will solve the problems soon.
The main character installs black carpets for a living so it's called dark matter
Have you tried SeaQuest?
Is that streaming anywhere? Wanted to watch the first episode again.
I purchased the bluray set and ripped it to my setup. Wait for a sale.
Nobody in Germany is streaming it. https://www.werstreamt.es/serie/details/232710/seaquest-dsv/
