Toronto runner smashes Rubik's Cube mile world record
On Monday, George Scholey, originally from the United Kingdom, took to Toronto’s Central Tech Stadium with a team of pacers, videographers, and timers to attempt the Rubik’s Cube mile world record in front of a crowd of supporters. Unlike a regular mile, the Rubik’s Cube mile starts with Scholey solving a Rubik’s Cube, then requires him to solve a different cube on each subsequent lap, except the last. He ran an impressive 5:09.25, shattering the previous mark of 5:22.75 set by the U.S.’s Jake Hanson in June, and earning his fourth Guinness World Records title.
