Why remove x11 support?

Hi, I'm using KDE Plasma and it's been great so far. I heard that the new version will be Wayland only. I'm no expert on the matter, but I've been happy to be able to switch between Wayland and X11. Some older Windows games I play through Wine run better with X11. Also in python programming the pyautogui module only works with X11. As far as I know it's not even possible at all in Wayland to make mouse and keyboard automations. Thats kind of a bummer for me. Why not just support both as they do now?

Supporting both could be double the work for unpaid volunteers which may not be in the organization's best interest.

Also the stylus in some Thinkpads is only supported by X11.

Use an older version of Plasma, or ditch Plasma.

I'll stop my recurring donations to KDE. If they can't support me, I don't see why I should support them. Their resources are limited, true, but so is my money. It's best donated to initiatives I have use for.

AFAIK XWayland is still supported, and pyautogui should work fine in XWayland.

Edit: Nevermind, thought it was some gui framework, it's more like xdotool.

You can, you just can't use the X11 tools, because it's not X11. Look into ydotool for a universal option, or there's kdotool for kwin.

you could switch to different DE of course but u can also keep plamsa for wayland and use something more lightweight for X11 thus giving your games more resources and RAM

I'm left, but prefer stability & decades of refinement over "the new shiny."

Wayland is already 18 years old. Hardly new or shiny.
