Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Band So We Wouldn't Get Sued
“Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn’t Get Sued” is the first song from Fall Out Boy’s first album, From Under The Cork Tree.
This is a reference to that. My first guess is they're a FOB cover band

That reminds me of the time someone told me that the American rock band Better Than Ezra wanted to be called "Better Than Metallica" but didn't want to get sued, so they changed it to Ezra, which was supposed to be a fictional band they were better than.
This was way back before we had Google or Wikipedia to check stuff like that. So before saying it here, I looked it up on their Wikipedia article.

It turns out, no one knows why they're called that and the band refuses to say. So, maybe that was a thing that people believed. Or maybe one person was making shit up.
But while we're on the topic, Imagine Dragons has a similar backstory to its name. As I understand it, they were struggling to come up with a good name, when they came up with the perfect name, something that was deeply personal to all of them. But they weren't comfortable using it, so they ran it through an anagram solver, and came up with Imagine Dragons. I'm sure there was a little more to the process, since you could just run "Imagine Dragons" through an anagram solver... and you actually come up with quite a few things. So fans have never been able to find out the true name of the band. Which is funny because in some legends, knowing a dragon's true name grants you power over it. A power they're keeping to themselves. So, Imagine Dragons is also a fake band name. Sort of.
Okay I love that
