My favorite movie with Ben Affleck is Smokin' Aces, when his character dies halfway through the movie.

My second favorite movie with Ben Affleck is Dazed and Confused, when he gets paint dropped on him, and he twists his ankle walking to the car.

He actually slammed the paddle into his own leg/ankle when he smashed it to pieces, and that's why he's walking funny to his car in that scene. He was supposed to hit the curb I think, but missed and destroyed his own ankle along with the paddle.

Watching the interview and looking back on the history of how he became Batman, the low point seems to be a result of everything going wrong and not having the power to fix it.

Affleck only took on the role after being convinced by Snyder (after Daredevil he was reluctant to take on a superhero role again). Batman v Superman was rocky, but a future solo film was planned. Then Justice League happened. Massive studio interference. Snyder had to step away and lost the film. His costars had issues with the new director (Whedon). And of course Affleck had his own personal issues.

To be Batman, but not feel like Batman, I get it. That would suck.

I doubt we'll ever see Affleck as Batman again. Who knows. Maybe an old Bruce Wayne in 10-15 years as part of a future Flash storyline.

I'm coming in hot with 2 controversial opinions at once. Batfleck was fucking awesome and deserved it's own movie. And the latest iteration, Robert Pattersons batman, is fucking awful and should never have happened.

Affleck was the first actor to take a serious Batman role that in my opinion was a good Bruce Wayne and good Batman.

Add to that the obvious inspiration from the Batman games and it was top notch Batman to me.

Honestly the writing and the meddling WB execs were what made the DCEU movies bad. Affleck was absolutely one of the bright spots and it actually makes me a little sad that he would shit on his own work like that.

After all the Superman vs. Batman buildup, the resolution was that their mommies were named Martha? That's what they released? In theaters?
