IMO it’s pretty done as far as the WDC goes. 84 point lead for Kimi and 5-7 races to go, I don’t see even a DNF or two stopping him now.

Great race from Max, and really good strategy from Lewis (pushing back on the call to box). Also nice seeing Alonso with P8.

Wonder who made the call to start on slicks

I liked the call for slicks. It did seem like a coin toss at the time and if he was correct I think he ends up winning.

Only for those who went by gut feeling instead of closely inspecting the tarmac they were literally standing on.

There are low tech means to figure our how wet even the pores are, for example by blasting compressed air onto the tarmac and hold a piece of cardboard next to it to catch droplets. That's kinda (minus the cardboard) what Nascar do to dry tracks because somehow in America they know that there is residual wetness in pores and the pinnacle of motorsports doesn't.

Yeah it was a close call, and if he was right he puts himself in a place to win and when he was wrong it only cost him 1 place from his starting position. Definitely a fair play

Seemed pretty 50:50 at the start, obviously hindsight’s a bitch.

It has been done for quite awhile. Kimi has more race pace than Russell on most tracks. When that is not case he is still fast enough and has lady luck riding onboard to minimize the points lost.
