Corduroy discussion post

It is no secret that I love corduroy!

From warm hunting pants to western needlecord pearlsnap shirts to californian surfer shorts, you can wear corduroy in any situation. It is heavy enough to drape well, breathable despite the weight, and unfussy enough to machine wash despite being a variation of velvet.

Lets discuss corduroy!

I'm very glad to hear you loved it until it was completely worn out!

That one you linked looks pretty good but I'd check your local thrift stores first, I always see a corduroy blazer or three floating around. If that doesn't work I'd check ebay. Better for your wallet and the environment to buy used.

Edit: and also corduroy looks good beaten up a little. Ages nearly as well as jeans imho

I can hear the pants.

I had a prized pair of guacamole green courderoy chuck Taylors that I wore to their death. Those things were cool.

I was given a corduroy shirt. I really don't know how to wear it. it's warm so wear it in autumn and winter right? But the cords create so much friction I literally can't get a jumper on over it. A warm shirt that I can't layer over is pretty useless.

Maybe the move is to wear it a little unbuttoned when it is a bit warmer out? Or under jackets with smooth linings?

Maybe wear it without a jacket on top while it's still not cold outside and you figure out what you'd like to pair it with. A few buttons open and sleeves slightly rolled up if you wish.

You reached the end
