Life long Ohioan here. Transgender folk were not even a topic of discussion until after gay marriage was legalized and they needed a new Boogeyman.

I'd wager Brown never had much reason or need to comment until the bathroom bills started making the rounds. "The forced surgery" has always been a made up conspiracy, but it's weird they're making Brown of all people out to be some champion of illegal surgeries.

I'm always insulted by patronizing culture war narratives. I don't understand why it's so effective on Americans.
