Damn it's amazing how nostalgic this feels.

This really was most art back then, and what was considered good.

Makes me wonder how much of the difference from then to now is due to the prevalent style evolving, versus artists simply getting better, versus the digital art software itself evolving.

"Why did Japanese art look like that then, and why doesn't Japanese art look like that now?"

More focus on realism and mature themes. Mostly due to the slow cultural shift of anime and manga. Jiujitsu Kaisan would not fit in at all back then
