[Movie Suggestion, Animated] Forgotten Island, Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado (2026)
From the creators of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Forgotten Island is a new original animated movie exploring childhood friendships and Philippine mythology. Jo and Raissa both grew as fans of the "fictional" island of Nakali where different creatures based from Philippine mythology exists. However, they reach a turning point when Raissa has to go to the US to continue her studies. This conflict becomes their "portal key" to come to the Forgotten Island, the place they always have hoped to visit. Without understanding the risk that their memories maybe "forgotten," Jo and Raissa enters the portal. If you grow apart, do you let go and "forget" your childhood memories with your best friend?
I highly recommend watching the film in the cinema or when it comes to streaming. It will definitely make you cry, and surprise you with a few scares. Hopefully you also find some laugh at its jokes because it tries to be funny in a very broad audience (some Filipino jokes might not be relatable).
