Birthday dinner
Pork steak, lumpy mashed potatoes, corn. I don't normally do lumpy but it was a request for her birthday meal.
Pork steak is highly underrated. Better than pork chops.
Cost per person: $3.33

It looks delish as usual!
I'm feeling a little sheltered having not experienced a pork steak before. I'll have to put it on the list.
It's an unglamorous cut with gristle and bone. But it offers the flavor that a 99% fat free pork chop can never deliver on. And it's cheap.
Agreed, I discovered it last year when trying new cuts on our dinky little camping grill, and I absolutely love it.
Happy Birthday, Mrs FauxPseudo!
You know, it’s a shitty pic but this looks delicious as hell. Pork steak is fire. Chunky mashed potatoes are fire. Canned corn is fire, hot take. Especially if it’s that dope ass Del Monte “Grown Good” Whole Kernel Sweet Corn.
Happy birthday.
This is "cooking", not foodpr0n, or photography. I want people to cook. Not get discouraged because their photography is shitty.
Personally I like my mashed potatoes super smooth but with skins. Sometimes lumps are okay but I've had too many preparations that are more lump than mashed or blended and that's just unpleasant.
Right on! Skins have gotta be in there. I need that crisp, salty confetti stirred into my potatoes.
Wowzers. She is a lucky lady. Too bad you took this pic before you seasoned the corn.
Salt, butter, pepper. Mixed in the pot.
all I care with the potatoes is don't get rid of the skins. I can't tell from the picture if they have them or not.
My potatoes always have skins.
Hearty and delicious! It looks great
