Aotearoa Weekly Kōrero 30/09/2026

Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

Congrats! ☺️ Let me know if you are after any full stack engineers in the near future! I'm about 6 years in and looking to take my career to the next step. I specialize in .net and backend data flow

Congrats! I went off the idea of managing staff quite some years ago. Hopefully you will enjoy it! (and hopefully it won't lead to the company fleeing the country this time)

I mean if it happens twice i gotta start asking "is it me? No its the kids who are wrong" - Principle Skinner.

Could also be correlation... Companies that make poor hiring decisions, or hire too many people, might be more likely to go out of business...

I don't but have you tried the usual tricks? Arcive the page and try to view the archived version, use a VPN to connect from a different country, look for browser scripts, etc?

If you link the article I can have a play.
