Adding microblogging accounts to feeds

Case in point

Tabletop Sentinel are cool and have both Mastodon and ![email protected] (this is included at the bottom, so IMO this is official). But this leads to separation of comments.
Same article linked on Mastodon and Lemmy.

Proposal

I don't think that Piefed as software could do something with the situation as it is. But if we could add a Mastodon account into a feed, that feed would be linking to Mastodon posts and comments from Piefed would land on Mastodon too. ![email protected] as a Lemmy community would no longer be needed (sorry @[email protected] I don't mean it against you, I just think that in this case fragmentation of comments does a disservice)

Yep, this is a popular request.

Mastodon added feeds of accounts recently, which they called "Collections" https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2026/04/designing-collections/

PieFed feeds could be extended to be a mixture of communities and accounts but I don't think that would play nicely with what Mastodon is doing. I need to find out if this matters, what would be involved, etc.
