If he starts with the ones that proposed AI as the means to be rid of workers, he'd probably gain a not so subtle following given everything going on in the bay area where apple is headquartered.
And I already don’t understand the reputation. Been using their products for a pretty long time, but over last 4-5 years, everything is a buggy mess. Everyone keeps saying “it just works”, but that’s not my experience at all.
I have found the same thing. I haven't purchased new Apple products since before the pandemic. I am still using an iPhone 12; it can retire when the fairphone is fully supported in Canada.
Well this doesn’t bode too well… that and the push towards AI is what turns me off apple. I guess this generation of apple products will really be my last one
yhym, if you make a photo of a plant it show you the name of the species... isn't it aggressive? send your photos to their servers without your consent or will
I think the new Siri features that constantly listen to your conversations to sum them up (without the consent of the other party of course) as well as the changes to the license agreement allowing them to use your data for training is not that more mild compared to the competition.
On the first point; I'm not a fan either, but it is opt-in and transcription is done on-device. On the second point; the other companies wouldn't anonymize it, and would sell advertising against it.
I get where you're coming from, but while Apple might be a 5 on the shit scale in this regard, every other company actually selling AI in an 11.

Faster obsolescence is what he really means.

Pretty sure Jobs was cut quite some time ago.
And with him the insistence on excellence.
Jobs had many faults and bring a perfectionist was one of them, but he did put that into the product as well.
Article cites Ternus as wanting to cut middle managment jobs. I’m not ready to get my pitchfork out for that.
More shit, badly made.
Well, there goes whatever remained of Apple's reputation for quality.

While an AI push is present at Apple, it seems much less aggressive than any of the other major tech companies.

What are you on about? Taking a photo on an iPhone with iCloud turned on is neither against your will or without your consent.

hopefully more will come to reason as you do
I predict new phones with no new options just some shit like "The Silver Model" or "Now glows in the dark!".
