Meanwhile, in Japan in the 80s, they were putting penguin orgies on their mugs.

(There's also rabbits, whales, and some other animal IIRC)

For persons disgusted by stacked plates this is perfect.

People who have this fancy plates keep their plates in a rack or on one of those display shelves you see in old movies. Not stacked like a peasant.

Behold, the vast tracts of great room wall whereupon perches my finest China. And yes, that is wallpaper, and the pattern does match up perfectly at the seams, what of it? I'm not some two-bit provincial rube, I'll have you know!

Why are you assuming I'm buying one for everybody?

This is the me plate, screw the rest.

There's nothing stopping you from buying whimsical kitchenware (except for the fact it only comes in more than average wage per set or in impressively cheap but has lead painting)

Either the bear is three dimensional or the shadows are really well done. If they are 3D they won't stack and would be a nightmare to clean. Worth it for special occasions?

Yes, I'm fun at parties.

I think you just buy one for decoration. Not everything has to practical.

Very true! I think part of the reason I'm being bitter right now is that I live in a studio apartment that I can barely afford and have literally no room for decorations. I never bother to even decorate my walls, because who knows how long I'll be able to afford the rent?

I didn't mean to make this another "fuck capitalism" thread. Oops.

All my potential inheritance was spent on basically worthless stuff like this...

Why on earth did this make me shed a nostalgic tear?

9

It actually is. Very much so. But it's increasingly expansive as people demand things like a fair wage for their work.

There is no way there are that many plates there

My mum has a bunch of cups with Diddl mice on them.

1

I swear it's safe to google! but make sure of to leave the "e" out of "diddl".

2

Were they still using lead paint back then, because all I can think about is that this will probably leech lead into all your food

You reached the end
