A robe is just a mobile blanket.

I guess the same could be said for a coat, or clothes even, but there's something very blanket-like about wrapping a robe around yourself to hang on to the warmth and comfort when getting out of bed on a chilly morning.

Anything's mobile if you try hard enough, but some things are optimized for it. :)

I certainly take a blanket with me sometimes but I try not to so it doesn't drag across the floor. Though I have wrapped smaller blankets around my waist like a makeshift dress/kilt to reinforce my robing activities.

Ah, the l'esprit de l'escalier moment, should have said 'no, I keep them chained to the bed like pens at a bank.'

I did just grow a big beard. Maybe a career in arcane arts is in my future.

Incidentally, I love robes so much I just bought a second one. The original is now my winter robe, as it's a little much the new one is my fall/spring robe. Next year I will purchase an even lighter breezy summer robe.

I also love pajamas.
