Our government, especially the GOP, invited it to happen by supporting apartheid and genocide. Then the GOP used it as an excuse to start a war and build up a police surveillance state. They cashed in on a massive Halliburton contract. The ball was already set rolling decades ago, but this is where shit really started to go south. The GOP until today are using 9/11 as a justification for their bullshit.

well, and the financial support for bin laden throughout the war in afghanistan.... equipping him with stingers and explosives, then once the sov's pulled out, forgetting him completely.

there's this concept called blowback, the CIA are kinda experts at it....
