“In other words, we think AI should be voiced by AI - not to offend AI. This feels especially important nowadays, with AGI almost here. That’s all we can say, unpacking the whole AI cultural narrative isn’t really our place.”

Not only is their joke lame and distasteful the studio is also revealing they have no idea what they are talking about. No, AGI is not almost here. This is a bigger joke than their stupid post.

Too sarcastic that they caused a PR mess, is definitely possible.

So they used AI voice with the excuse that the character is an AI? Barely interesting.

Using humans voices for AI character would be cultural appropriation.

The fuck?

In other words, we think AI should be voiced by AI - not to offend AI.

What?

This feels especially important nowadays, with AGI almost here.

Goodbye.

That has to be satire, there's no way a living human capable of reading and writing actually has that opinion for real

This is really more a discussion about how much the term "cultural appropriation" gets misused, rather than about AI, since the game devs actually seem pretty anti-AI. Assuming they aren't just lying, and assuming the use of the term is tongue-in-cheek.
