I mean, it would objectively be funny to hear them continue to scream how little they need Canada for anything in the midst of massive food shortages and crop failure.

I think it's actually important that Canada has only responded in kind, not escalated. I think a lot of Americans are actually pro Canada, and keeping that outlook is valuable.

Is it valuable though? They can't even help themselves let alone us

It just means they welcome you as rescuers once Canada reciprocates with the annexation attempt.

3

The typical American's response is irrelevant. The billionaires want Canada, so Trump will do what they want.

12

Stop selling it to GOP voters. Make customers vouch that they support democratic ideals. Publish their names so the ones that lie on the form get skewered by MAGA.

15

One of the three big comnpanies decided just to stop selling to the US, do not know if that has changed as I do not remember which one it was.

so, promote military invasion into Canada.

Have you not seen what they've done to Venezuela. Escalation does not fix anything.

Capitulation doesn't work either

It's not binary. Childish comment.

US economy is in a tailspin, gas is >$6 gallon, the midterms are 7 weeks away and then Trump's balls will be cut off and the Republicans will be 100% focused on keeping out of jail. Feet up, make more deals abroad and just watch the train wreck, don't jump on the train.

So they didn't invade Venezuela and turf out the government? Who is going to defend? Lemmy keyboard warriors?

Trump statement: "We don't need COMMUNIST CANADIANA potash. Our great state of Idaho grows the best potashtoes in the WORLD. FREEDOM POTASHTOES. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

It will be a great famine! the greatest famine. People come up to me and say "Mr President, no one has created a better famine than you" they say thank you mister president. And horrible Biden 5 years of 4 years of horrible policy, Biden let the criminals in, and we solved that.

Road salt shortages = deaths. That's not a political lever we should be pulling.

Well, plenty of lives depend on petroleum products, too. And you can use sand or similar to prevent icyness, as well, although you need more of it.

IMC Global owns the Sask potash mines, an American company. Not sure if that is a factor.

5

Exactly. Canada is a country of chronic sellouts. While people buy this Elbows Out bullshit, we sell off anything to the US.

While Drug Fraud is doing this:

He's allowing this.

Russia has more than we do, we have to hope that the US doesn't turn to them.

It is belerious that comes close to what Canada has, but Canada has the most.

Russian shipping is still under international embargo, isn't it?

2

The US enforces that, presumably they wouldn't enforce it against themselves.

The US enforces that

Despite the Americans frequent claim to be the world's police, they arent the only ones enforcing the embargo.

Other countries have navies and have detained Russian ships as well.

Which Navy will stand up to either with the backing on neither?

The list becomes much smaller, that's why nothing is done about American piracy.

Also the world police thing is just a military power projection. They don't want to be challenged so they take away country's need for an army.

1

Which Navy will stand up to either with the backing on neither?

Just a reminder that Ukraine has done a lot of damage to Russian ships, despite not having their own navy.

You reached the end
