Anthropic researchers are saying this because they are bleeding money and desperately need the hype to keep going. Value gained vs. Costs for tokens is simply unsustainable, and increasing evidence of model degradation. Add to that an obsession with synthetic data, and we are in a bit of a peak / bubble.
