I once read an article advocating for collecting the forestry slash and using it at geothermal power plants to add extra heat to the water to create more power. I get that they would still need to collect the wood off the beach like they are trying to avoid due to the cost, but what if that cost could be subsidised by selling the wood instead of burning it?
Or just subsidised by the creaters of this forestry slash having to pay for its clean up?

My old man worked at Fonterra for 50 years in there power/steam generation, so I have kept a slight eye om what they were upto:

Ah so slash could be converted to wood pellets for this sort of activity. It probably won't happen because I'm assuming there are cheaper sources.
