FediBuzz webfinger backreference failure
Hi @[email protected], I think I found a bug with FediBuzz and how it does its Webfinger responses.
In a nutshell, FediBuzz tag actors have preferredUsername set to tag-whatever, but the corresponding webfinger lookup ?resource=acct:[email protected] fails with a 404, but [email protected] works fine.
AI slop explanation follows (feel free to ignore!):
> tags.pub does it correctly:

> json > { > "id": "https://tags.pub/user/nodebb", > "preferredUsername": "nodebb" > } >

> WebFinger acct:[email protected] → resolves to https://tags.pub/user/nodebb ✅

@julian Are you sure? For me,
acct:tag-whatever@returns HTTP 200 whileacct:whatever@fails with HTTP 404.@[email protected] hmmm, you're right, I think I might've gotten confused. I swore it was the other way around, let me take a look when I get back to my PC
@[email protected] yeah I can't reproduce it anymore.
Both qwen and I must've hallucinated :anguished: I'll let you know if it happens again.
@[email protected] yup, root cause was a regression I accidentally introduced a year ago (I missed a
!and borked a conditional)Really weird, sorry for wasting your time!
