Subterranean canals
So we have subways all over the world. They need to contend with groundwater and storm water leaking in. They’re fighting nature. And we have canals for transportation like Amsterdam or Venice.
Let’s combine the two. Instead of waiting for the train, the platform would be a waterfront. The water is flowing in a big loop, so you just hop in one of the big ferries that comes every so often or bring your own boat, and float down to the next platform. Make the water like 2 feet deep and illuminated from below so nobody drowns. Maybe disinfect it to so in the summer you can just float to the next station. Cmon Boring Company, think beyond the personal auto.
