Leontiel's hat: A sharp-brimmed ceremonial hat affixed with a mask, the favored protective gear of the knight Leontiel. Leontiel admired Jerren as a father figure of sorts, and this mask lends her the same distinguished severity she saw in his own.

Leontiel's armor: Armor comprised of a mixture of metal and hard leather, favored protective gear of the knight Leontiel. The distinctive pauldrons accentuate the wearer's graceful movements, Leontiel's own eccentric little quirk.

Leontiel's gloves: Thick leather gloves designed for real combat, favored protective gear of the knight Leontiel. Affixed to the wrist with a belt-like mechanism.

Leontiel's boots: Leather boots designed for real combat, favored protective gear of the knight Leontiel. The fold-overs have been tanned a constrasting white. :::

Allegations of Elden Ring being Dark Souls 2 2 not even being denied any more

I'm not entirely sure what to make of how much the description author wanted to describe specific features of this set. The "orthodox order" is almost certainly a reference to the knights of Mirrah, but with Leontiel's location I like to think it's perhaps a remnant of a pre-Shattering Caelid culture. Leontiel doesn't seem to have much in common with the Redmanes besides her allegiance, so I think it's plausible that she only joined up when Radahn's army came to Caelid.

Golden Order flail: A flail with three golden rings for striking heads, the sacred signature weapon of the esteemed Broken Mask. The goldenbands are modelled upon the Elden Ring itself, half-corporeal and half formed of light, all in the process of shattering.

Causality's Wrath (Golden Order flail unique ash of war): A skill which houses the wheel of causality within the user's frame. Once activated, perform an additional input to unleash an attack. The potency of the attack builds charge tiers based on the number of hits taken.

Broken Gold Mask: A mask designed to resemble a blazing golden halo, though a piece is now broken off. The attire of the honorable Goldmask's closest disciple, and dear friend, who accompanied him on the great venture. Enhances incantations and skills that harness Causality. Upon the splintering of the Golden Order, so too did these companions part ways. One kept the faith, though the faith itself was broken, while the other fell completely to his own doubts.

Gold tattoo (chest): An intricate tattoo, etched into the flesh. The work of the honorable Goldmask's closest disciple, and dear friend, who accompanied him on his great venture. Increases faith to the detriment of focus. It is an artificial tongue, create to express the Golden Order itself, now an unrelenting curse that binds the entire body with its rule. A new glimpse into the guy that leads to my personal favourite ending in the game. I've seen some theorising that this character is Corhyn, or perhaps an alternate Corhyn, as he breaks down when Goldmask accepts that Marika is Radagon. I don't personally think that this works, as a) Broken Mask invades as soon as you learn about it yourself, before you tell Goldmask, and b) I don't get the impression that Goldmask considers Corhyn a dear friend. Increasing faith to the detriment of focus is interesting, as it is almost explicitly saying that blind commitment to the Golden Order is functionally the same as the Frenzied Flame

::: spoiler Steel set and hefty scimitar The heavy knight starter class' kit, also available from merchants in Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula.

Hefty scimitar: A curved blade of considerable size whose keen edge is only made more deadly by its imposing weight. This curved greatsword demands both strength and dexterity of its wielder, rewarding those capable of mastering it with great, sweeping slashes that mow through multiple foes at once.

Carian silver regalia The richly ornamented white silver armor of the Carian Royal line is a one-of-a-kind item made for a certain spectral steed, once forged in the lands of the Three Sisters. It is through grace that the spectral steed Torrent's appearance may be changed. Though a spectral steed's form will change when vested in this garb, their heart will remain the same.

Funereal night regalia: A smaller version of the sable attire used to adorn and conceal the warhorses of the Night's Cavalry. One of several liveries once prepared for spectral steeds, which allows Torrent, through grace, to change his appearance. The Carian one seems to imply that it was Torrent's regalia specifically, and reinforces the connection between Ranni and Torrent. I think it's fairly safe to say that Torrent was once Ranni's steed, presumably lost when Ranni burned herself

The Funereal one confirms, to me, that the Night's Cavalry ride spectral steeds of their own. They can re-summon their steeds, after all

Reverse-bladed sword: Curved blade wielded with a backhand grip, said to have originated from the hidden realm of shadow. The style of combat associated with this weapon is marked by spinning slashes and gouging thrust attacks.

Reed great katana Large katana with a long, heavy blade. A weapon unique to warriors of the Land of Reeds. Designed for aggression, this armament requires the wielder to throw their entire body into swinging it. The slashing attacks of its honed edge incite blood loss.

Ritual thrusting shield: A "thrusting shield," or combined weapon and shield. Enables the wielder to attack and guard simultaneously. An armament once used in rites of combat performed to honor the Erdtree, now lost to time. :::

Nothing too surprising here, with one exception: the reverse-bladed sword's description suggests that the Realm of Shadow is not as much of a secret as Marika might have liked. If the sword is "said to have originated from the hidden realm of shadow", people have to know about the RoS to be spreading rumours about it

::: spoiler Idus set and Idus sword The gear you get if you take the Idus knight starter class, or by buying it from a nomadic merchant in Liurnia. The sword is found in the open world in Liurnia.

A signature weapon in the land of Idus. With cultivated form, one can wield this weapon as swiftly as one might a straight sword.

We've got a new country introduced! I'm assuming it's not within the Lands Between since the Erdtree is described as "faraway", but it still clearly has reverence for and knowledge of the Erdtree and Grace, which I don't think we've had confirmed about any non-TLB location yet. Cool little glimpse into the wider world.
