Few birds around to photo in Prospect Park today, but this struck me as good enough to post here (especially given the current low post count).

To you this may be “just a magpie”, but to this magpie you may well mean the world.
Magpies are awesome. Crows are awesome. Pigeons are awesome. I do have mixed feelings about invasive house sparrows.
"Awesome" is a bit strong - well worth watching, perhaps.
And you clearly haven't looked enough at house sparrows, lovely plumage and fun to watch flocks of them - there again, it you are referring to sparrows as invasive, you might be American and expect a bit more colour from your birds :)
