TThe_v lemmy.worldThis is how tarrifs work. I imported some product from the EU to the U.S. for my business. U.S. customs slapped a 10% tarrif on the shipment. Supplier said "your countries stupidity, your problem." Couldn't really argue with the supplier. I paid the 10% tarrif to get the shipment in. I then then added the increased charges on the invoice to the customer. Who is also in the U.S.2Reply

This is how tarrifs work.
I imported some product from the EU to the U.S. for my business. U.S. customs slapped a 10% tarrif on the shipment.
Supplier said "your countries stupidity, your problem." Couldn't really argue with the supplier.
I paid the 10% tarrif to get the shipment in.
