Article fails to mention that while residents don't have power, eight data centers in the city still do.

It does look like extreme damage involved. Is that the official excuse? What were the initial homes without power?

Gary is a Democrat stronghold in a solid Republican state. It is one of the most maligned, downtrodden cities in America.

I made a point of visiting it a little over a month ago. While it is certainly impoverished, I never felt unsafe.

That is the question you care about most when talking about an entire city without power for nearly two weeks? What the fuck?

So what if they ALL voted for it? Yeah fuck em, they are getting what they all asked for!!!!! I get the feeling totally, you are allowed to feel superior for like 5 minutes.... but then you have to get over it and treat this as an unfolding human rights crisis!

Well, if they had voted against the regime then it's no surprise they are being ignored, that's how Trump behaves.

What would I need to feel superior to? Where I live the power goes out if a woodpecker flaps too hard. I have been weeks out of power after a storm. The grid is trash everywhere and there are only so many linemen to put bandaids on it. Run your generator and wait.
