Vancouver data centre builders asked Carney for government business
Developers of proposed Vancouver data centres asked Prime Minister Mark Carney for business commitments as they prepared to unveil their project, according to documents from the IJF’s Open by Default Database.
A December 2025 memo for the prime minister said Telus and Vancouver property developer Westbank planned to ask Carney for “government support,” including by committing the federal government to using a certain percentage of the new project’s capacity.
