Privacy Calorie Counter App (IOS)
Looking for a privacy focused Calorie counter App. I’ve tried Calorie & Fuel Calories but both apps lack in the foods in DB and entering in data for Fuel is a particular pain.
Any suggestions? I’ve looked into OpenNutriTracker but the IOS version looks like it actually tracks a lot of data

Did a follow up , looks like the privacy policy for OpenNutriTracker the app is a bit all over the place. Looking at the source code for OpenNutriTracker looks like it’s not making any external calls outside of the food api.
It’s not the most comprehensive tool but it’s enough for me.
Not the biggest fan of Material UI but that’s the most tacky complaint I can have
Does the built in health app not support calorie tracking? It's been a while since I've used iOS, but I believe you can also add data such as calorie intake with shortcuts for more automated logging.
Privacy issues for me there . Apple is getting worse there by the day
I don't use iOS anymore, so I can't really be more helpful with my suggestions, but apple health hasn't had problems with sharing user's health data (afaik), and as far as Apple's privacy goes (not all that far tbh) they put an effort into keeping your health data private.
If you still prefer to use a different app, fair enough and more power to you, just thought I'd let you know. Make sure to disable Siri (or I suppose apple intelligence now) learning from whatever app you decide to use though.

Thank you for the recommendation. Any background on this ?
Nope, just the tracker I've been using for a while.

I would suggest Fud AI. For starters, its Foss. I use a fork of it, but its only available on android. Its a bring your own ai, so use a private ai provider if u want. Mistral works well and its comparable with everything. The most private and accurate thing you can do to track calories is to get a scale and weigh your food.
