Paseo Padre Pkwy in Fremont is really nice
It's just a pleasant drive, all the way along, up into Union City, at least. I haven't been the entire length, but from where it crosses 680 to where it crosses Decoto Rd, it's just... nice. Not too many McMansions, well-tended mid-century homes, and even some stylin' mid-century apartments (again, well-maintained). Plus they close down a section in Fremont for that art fair, and I love to see cities shutting down major thoroughfares for pedestrian events.
Anyhoo, we're relatively new to the area, and while towns like Los Gatos are pretty, massive concentrations of wealth is cheating. And while I doubt that many properties on Paseo Padre are exactly affordable, it's tastefully done and a lot of pretty modest properties. I guess I like those well-tended older homes. And so many parks and green spaces! So far, it's one of my favorite city features in the Bay area.

Es muy padre
Hah! I didn't know padre (father) was slang for "cool".
Welcome, relative newbie!
Thanks!
